400 to go IPO

It's now 400 to go IPO. Why? Is it going to keep going up? Where is it going to stop? it was 300 not that long ago. I'm just curious because yeesh it sucks not knowing when and to what extent rule changes are gonna happen.

I believe it used to be 500B market cap to IPO so it has lowered in the past year, however I do not know if it is going back to that or not.

We have made it easier to perform an IPO recently and reduced the market value while increasing the required P/E ratio.
It was a temporary measure and we explained that market values are expected to increase and P/E values are expected to decline.

This is now taking place (mainly P/E values have come down).
market values are now >700B in good corporations.

It is time to return to previous values that are more in line with the stock market where the shares are expected to be traded.

P/E ratio level is now 44 (went up to 50 temporarily and declined to 47 and then to 44). It should be 20 but there is a long way to go.

The guiding logic here is that although we do want more corporations to perform an IPO, we also want their shares to be traded.

Is it still possible to become successful in share marketing if we find the right measure and through trials and errors?

I know this is early to ask and it's long term patience game. The purpose here is to become share marketing success with low p/e ratio, high value and keeping the coporation in positive state, especially with state owned companies.

What I noticed, iirc, that country investment funds have quite low cash on their hands so to say in comparison to what I remember from years back. A couple of c3 I checked all had under 10B invested/available, while I remember operating with trillions. Would not increasing this purchasing power lead to more liquidity? I am not sure what other consequences such increase could have though. The stock market is tricky, exploitable, in the so-called real world and also here.

Orders go through only(?) if there is supply, someone offers, and in last 15mins(?) of the hour as stated elsewhere. The volume should be checked easily on server side. Liquidity is crucial as rigid market discourages trading.

I only asked to begin with because it makes trading back and forth partial ownership to my enterprise and country has been hard lately with the huge demand for shares on the market, and this will make me have to wait that much longer sheesh. But i shouldn't be so selfish i guess.

An another note though, if P/E ratios have to be 20 then enterprises will never go public without intentially tanking the corp, with how heavy country resources are.

yea I think it is a combination of limited prices and such low volume. My orders went through a few game days after I posted so they are moving just slow..

Conditions have changed recently with changing P/E ratios and we have changed the schedule for the trading (published here) to make it work faster and reduce locking.
We did reduce share trading while month processing is running and it might block share trading for too long.

Recently, we saw that the number of transactions increased a lot but we will check again.

I buy at market price when there is a supply and it goes through immediately.

There were lots and lots of demand in the stock market(I assume they were buy order from the investment fund), but there were not much supply.

The demand and supply were so lopsided that the market isn`t really feasible. It is very easy to sell to those demand if u had the stock but buying is very very difficult when there were no supply.

Stock market still need alot of improvement on the simulations before it will be fun.

Think about it...

If the corp is doing well, share owners arent going to sell so...no supply! and everyone wants them therefore your orders for in demand shares arent going to be filled. If there's a big supply it means the corp is doing bad and everyone is off-loading their shares, therefore its hard to sell them.

The demand and supply of the stock market actually seems to function far better in the game than of the product markets.

I was only concern about the `playability` of the market in Simcountry.

In the real world, every corp will have people buying or selling whether it`s making profit or not.
If there were only demand in profit corp and supply in losing corp. Then Wall Street will not work.

In the real world, stock market actually employ trader to do in-house trade to create a bouyant market. They were refer to as `market maker`.
In simcountry, investment fund can play the role as market maker, to create a more bouyant market,and it will be more `playable`.

I believe IF will eventually offload shares so those stocks that only show high demand and no supply eventually get filled. Though I am not sure of this because most stocks show no volume. So to some extent you I guess you could say that the IF are kinda the market makers, just not sure how much and if it is shown in the trade volume.

No trade volumn means no trade.
No bid price means nobody buying, and no ask price means nobody selling.
If the IF were trading with IF behind the scene, that`s not going to help us. They are making the market, yes but they are making behind the scene for Simcountry, not for the players.
IF should do more as a market maker to make the market more `playable`.

The share market is a better simulation than any other part of the game.

Tuco is right that it would benefit from much more liquidity, specifically by allowing more money for investment funds. Instead, I believe the GM reduced the contributions to investment funds.

Another problem is that when countries reset, their investment funds also reset. That lowers their available capital and hurts liquidity.

In the past, investment funds in c3s did not reset. Sometimes I conquered c3s just to get their trillions in investment funds.

It would be more interesting if countries being reset offer their investment shares for sale but keep their investment fund cash. After the reset, the investment funds can operate as usual. That would increase liquidity and give players a greater selection of shares to buy.

My enterprise invests in the share market constantly, but it currently takes way too long to sort through things. But my poll I put through a couple months ago passed about putting in search filters, so players would actually have the time to use it the right way.

But IF's are just buying everything leaving nothing left good available. And I'm starting to fail to see the purpose of the investment funds, except to defraud, and steal their money through manipulating corporations. If you invest the whole IF then nothing gets paid back to the investors, they pay no additional taxes and its meanlingless. If you don't invest money after you have money in then the interest rate will keep dropping until that's meaningless.

I mean I don't know if this holds true for everyone, I know I look for very specifc attributes when investing, and it's hard to beat investment funds to some of them. They&#
