Health Costs out of Control

Two of my countries (on different worlds) have just seen a huge rise in health costs causing both of them to be no longer profitable and are now losing money. Anyone else experiencing this?
Any explanation for this?
Countries in question are Republik Alemmania on LU and New Holland on WG.

Something is going on. I didn't really notice the health care costs until I read this but the thing I have noticed is that all of my enterprise corporations are steadily ticking down from running at 120% to 118% and 117%. It's kind of noticable across 300 corporations. I can't find any computer controlled countries to build in running over 114 welfare either. Something is definitely happening.

Just read the March 14 game news. They tinkered with the birth/death rates. We might be holding on to more seniors than before because we have a good health system.

Health costs were not changed.
there is nothing wrong with health costs.

we have reduced death rates a bit and increased birth rates a bit to prevent large drops in population.

cost can increase if the cost of materials that are used by hospitals are increasing.
these are all types of medical materials.

A very very high health index can now, more than before, reduce the death rates even furter.

Rates will then be reduced in ALL age groupds.

Health update was a good decision, i can already see a big change in my biggest countries

It actually generated the opposite on my countries.
I managed to get countries with +250m , +350m and 599m to have more birth than death rates with a health index of 300%.


It went from +15000 to 100000 , to -22000 to -111000

The changes are effective in countries where the distribution of the population among the age groups is based on the basic model of births and with age groups growth based on the normal aging with death rates that depend on the health index.

countries with many population movements have a distorted distribution with, for example, numbers in the 18 to 21 age group smaller than the 21 to 24 group.

Population in these countries can grow or decline depending on the current age distribution.
restoring the normal model can take place if the population is left alone, for quite a long time and normal distribution returns.

Can it ever return to default 100M from 600M even with high health numbers? I was sure the process would be very slow, still testing it though.

In my mind the population update was the greatest thing you guys did in years, and still some questions left as I see.

I do not think it will return to 100M.

600M is unstable because it was reached by population transfers.
When left alone it will decline, slower than before, and with health index of 250+ it will end up at a very high level.
We do not know more than you do because it depends on the distribution in the age groups.
The birth numbers depend on the 18 to 35 age groups.
The birth numbers will define the 0-4 group and these numbers, if they become stable, will define the next age groups and in time, stabilize the entire population.

Birth numbers are now slightly higher. they decline with the size of the population but less than before and do not go down as much as before.

death rates are now lower and are more dependent than before on the health index.

we intend to add a measure for the supply of food products and very low food supplies will increase the death rates.
