My Cancer is Back - Aries

Those that were around three years ago, this month, know what I went through then. My post from back then can still be found on this forum. This last weekend I experienced symptoms I hadn't since that time, night sweats and loss of appetite. I visited my regular doctor office on Monday and, after a blood test that set off all sorts of flags, went to my Oncologist office on Tuesday.

On Tuesday, my Oncologist recommended bringing me into the hospital, as getting the scans I needed would likely have been delayed until after the holiday on outpatient. Yesterday, I completed a PET and CT scan and confirmed "areas of concern".

I would still be in the hospital except that the teams I need for a biopsy are not in until next week. On Monday, I will be readmitted into the hospital and will likely be there for some time. I appreciate the support and well-wishes from you guys.

As planned, I have been here in the hospital since Monday. Haven't been able to move up my biopsy, they are catching up post-holiday. I am due for an endoscopy-type procedure tomorrow at 4pm to look at lymph-nodes around my liver and pancreas. Later this week I hope to know more about what I am facing and a treatment plan.

They were able to move up my biopsy and it is now completed and I am back to my room. Results could take a week. Might be going home.

So, the biopsy came back without cancerous cells. I am not out of the woods yet though, as the symptoms I had and the scans were real. The new lymph nodes are relatively small yet, and biopsy options are few. I am being closely monitored this next month, with appointments every two weeks and new scans next month to see how the lymph nodes are trending.
