Or possibly add a War challenge world. Players who wish to war it out can all join this world at the same time for a finite number of turns. (Perhaps a 30 or 60 or 90 real day world.) Every one pays a coin premium for this and add some prize coin into the mix.

Maestro - I like the idea of a War Challenge world (or server) & have seen it in various other on-line games.
1.WG2 has a "No Donations" server (one $10 Fee buys you a single country forever), where pure skill wins a month long battle. Its a great way to learn real skills without losing everything.
2. They also have one "Extreme" server where tangierz & Zanzia still play & players in a FED can transfer 100% of army back & forth - utilizing trust lol & ability to be on line. Countries with zero or little army can produce a lot more than a mature country for example & besides standard/ strategic weapons - a whole spy class is introduced - assets stolen - etc.
3. Zanz also plays FA where if you badmouth a player - you waste no time duking it out in a public forum - but take it to the DogFight server. I checked the hall o Fame there & one fanatic has over 110,000 wins/ kills lol.

Undefended? Even if they were all undefended. The player was dumb for not defending. If you can't log in, don't stay in a fed that attacks another player, and expect not to have some kind of consequence.
