Awards changing rapidly?

Just wondering if the Empire and CEO Awards are meant to equal out? I realised that at least on KB the award for #1 Empire drops like on a daily rate while the #1 CEO award rises at about the same rate.
Anyone can verify this on other worlds and/or if that is intentionally happening?

I've been sent to the basement all year, so I do not know what the rewards are now...
