Decline of a free country

Expected Number of Births This Year 132,650
Expected Number of Deaths This Year 298,562

Population has declined by about 2 million or so. Still declining rapidly......

Any ideas how to stop the decline?

Judging by my population by age group. This decline is set to continue for game decades....

'Free To Play' countries populations stabilize around 19-20M people.
'Premium Players' countries populations stabilize around 90-100M people.

If you are a free player, and you have more than 20M population. The only sustainable way to increase your population further, is to become a Premium Player.
If you wish to play as a Free Player long term, plan your country around a total population of roughly 20 million people.

Population was 25 million down to 22 now.
Guess another 2 or 3 million left to go then.
All those free gifts gone to waste then ;-(

Yeah it is rough getting gifts that total more than your allowed to have. Hopefully you'll still find the game enjoyable and in time become a premium player.

Your pop actually stabalises around 15m or so, even less with poor indexes

Last time I checked, population in free countries stabilize at about 16 million.
The indexes are up to the player and the countries can be profitable.

We think it should work reasonably but leave a lot of potential for full membership improvements.

What is the mechanism for controlling free country populations? I've been looking through some 'Free to Play' countries, and the population charts are very strange. It doesn't look like the premium countries, population age groups spike and drop suddenly.

The 0-4 year old age group, seems to be tightly controlled, to remain almost exactly 600,000 people total. Or the equivalent of 150,000 births per year. But that would result in a total population of only 12,000,000, even if life expectancy was 80 years old, and it's usually a lot lower than that.

So I'm guessing other age groups have a 'balance' mechanism, to increase/decrease their totals as well? Otherwise populations would be dropping far below 15M for free players.

The population in C3s stabilize around 16M

Free players countries at 20M +

In all cases where there are limitations on the max number of people, the tuning is done on the child bearing age groups, 18-21 to 35-40.

This is resulting in steady birth numbers.

Population grows as long as the total is under the limits. 16M for C3s and 20M+ for free players.

there is also an intervention if for any reason population goes much lower, numbers are boosted quickly.

Many C3s had a reset some time before and some free player countries were C3s before.

The population spread in the age groups can be distorted and the game does not intervene.

The aging process, moving population from one age group to another gradually fixes all these situations.
It takes time as it takes 36 to 48 months for the population to move from one age group to another, This is 6 to 8 real days.
