Andy,
SB's are NOT easy to destroy using them manually unless you are using them to fly into the same situation as what they would see in an automatic response.
They would NOT be easy to destroy when attacked directly by another player as long as your Air defense and land defense where still in place if it wasn't for the automatic response.
You are facing an enemy in which a war has become active. They have all their offense and defense still intact and they KNOW you have 10 fully upgraded stealth bomber wings.
At this point they fire ONE of any weapon that can reach ANY target inside your country. A stealth bomber unit responds to that attack and flies into that country's full land defense units, along with federation air defense and is completely slaughtered by the defending units responding to the attack by them.
You do that 10 times and all 10 of your stealth bomber wings are stripped of weapons.

Andy,
I've explained the process of stripping SB's multiple times. Anyone that didn't know how to do it before does now.
Shortening the range of Offensive Anti-Aircraft batteries or Medium range missile batteries does nothing to change that. All that does is restrict the usefulness of those particular weapons.
If you can't wrap your head around how it's done the only thing left that I can think of is set up a throwaway country within SB range of FBC V in fearless blue, load it up with defense and 1000 Q450 SB wings, declare war and I'll show you how it's done.

Someone in W3C does, I know why they'd be hesitant to do that, people would scream they were using some unknown feature or advantage if they took someone's country. As long as whatever they do is something available to me, they can test anything they want. If it's unknown, I'll figure it out.
All I can say is IF they were able to take one of my countries, I'd learn something in the process. And if it helped straighten things out and got some real changes that benefited the game implemented, they could take every country I own, building more isn't that hard for me to do.
So, if W3C wants actual tests, pick the strongest country, pick the weakest and drop in a loaded-up battle ready country anywhere you want, I don't care. It would keep me from getting bored.
The developers SHOULD be more versed in how things work than the players.

On computational load,
How computationally intensive is the war game?
Between the moving units, the auto (re)supply function, and the computation for attacks/defence, how much of a load does it place on the server? Are there any metrics you can share? If not, can we start tracking this?
I ask because because there was once a war with several players attacking at the same time, and you could definitely tell it was slowing down the world server. Fair enough it was many years ago, and the servers were upgraded recently, but I'd prefer to get ahead of any issues.

Actually, that documentation page is getting too big for its own good. Can you please remove the corporation details from that page, and create a dedicated page for each corporation type? For ease of navigation, add a collapsible table or a navbox at the end of the documentation page. Something akin to: https://simcountry.fandom.com/wiki/Template:CorpList

The war engine does get bogged down, if more than a few are slogging it out at one time.

On steath bombers:
The possibility to quickly destroy the auto defending stealth bombers, depends on the amount of damage the defense can do.
I will look into it before starting a major recoding.
I think thay are doing much better now than before the last updates but I will look into it.
I do not think that sudden, large changes are good.
there will be another incremental change in the next upgrade.
processing war actions:
The servers are now much faster than before.
There are only a few functions in the game that require a lot of processing power.
We recently added a command to supply all your corporationsa with materials with a single request.
I saw 1400 product transactions taking place at once.
That is a good example. it takes several seconds. Each one of these product transactions involves many database transactions.
in war, an attack takes place blow by blow. Eac

"We have recently update the Targon weapons.
Is there any comment now on this change? did they improve sufficiently?"
Sorry Andy, it's going to take a knock-down drag out fight to test them. Fortunately, or unfortunately (depending on your view), things have been relatively quiet.
I'm sure once that happens information will start rolling in.
I use them so little to date after seeing them fail, I don't even remember how to set them up and can't find a way to do so either for land units or mobile units.
I thought there were land units with "Targon" in the name but no longer see it and looking at the units see no way to include Targon Missile Batteries.

Andy, If you want people to test the Targon unit changes you might want to put them back so we can assemble them.
I thought it was just me since I mothballed them so long ago but nobody I've polled can find them either.

I second the notion yankee mentioned about one of the developers going "all out" spawning in tens of thousands of offensive weapon systems in order to test defenses with real world testing. This can help with balancing weapons more. I also would be more than willing to allow such a test against some of my countries on White Giant, as I am okay with losing some of them ( or simply having my war situation index go to 0 with a defeat and have to rebuild ) and will put up as solid of a defense I can.
Edit: Another suggestion would be to set up a better log for attacks. The newspaper works, but it is an old system. I'm sure there would be a way to better organize war logs in a way that you can see more information on the screen. Along with things like total weapons, ammo, soldier casualties on both sides tallied up after a war is concluded. This may also allow the gm to review those logs with more clarity as well. Having to organize

I had forgotten the calculations were done at the missile level. And since each step needs to be resolved sequentially, it has to be single core. This certainly places a strain on the servers if many players launch attacks at the same time. It doesn't even need to be PvP. Several players attacking C3s will produce the same load.
It isn't a problem right now, but it is something worth having on the radar, if the game regains popularity. If there are any math or CS nerds that want to rewrite the problem so it produces a similar solution on the aggregate, this is an interesting problem to tackle.

I certainly hope only being able to use 2 stealth bomber wings, or even have them show up on the attack page no matter how many the country has assembled, is a glitch rather than one of the "improvements" Andy's made to them.

Most attacks are done in a second.
we get messages if attacks become slower.
we currently have 2 virtual machines on each server, meaning that two worlds can run on a single real server.
we do not have any performance issues.
If the situation changes, we wil run one virtual machine per server and we can get much faster servers.
This will be an excellent problem to have.

we have resolved the problem with the Targon units. they are now back. sorry about it.
it will take some time but we will collect data about their performance.
please also read the game news. we upgraded simcountry today.
Improving the war log is in our plan but may take some time to meterialize.
