W3C - Purchasing a country for 30 Gold Coins

Peaceful players have a problem when setting up an empire.
The purchase price of a country is 300 gold coins.

we will reduce the purchase price for countries.

Starting next week, the price for a country goes from 300 gold coins to 30 gold coins.

ALL players will be able to purchase countries for 30 gold coins.

There is no limitation to the number of countries you can purchase.

wouldnt that create a problem when you can aquire things valuing trillions for only 30 gold coins?

at least to take a C3 country by war you need to spend something on military, not much but at least you have to "work" for it

i guess being a premium member is required for buying 2nd country ?

Everyone will be able to purchase countries not only premium members.

You spend 30 gold coins and you get a small country. The population is around 15 millions.

mostly the same as the one you got when you started.

This is important for presidents who want to stay peaceful.

If you play the war game, you can of course conquer it. No gold coins needed.

I think this is very good move. We will see more empires as having an empire and remaining peaceful was difficult before.

We are also rethinking the max number of countries free players can conquer

Mhm. Maybe on the war world raise the free player invasion cap? I started on FB to fight wars only to find out I can only conquer one country...

We will raise it on all worlds.

I really like this idea and I think it will be good for the game. Especially for the free players.

I have to agree. This seems like a good idea.

If I may add a suggestion. If this is done to promote activity then it might be smart to remove the war protection of players when they hit a certain number of countries. For example when people have 15 countries they lose all their war protection. Otherwise there will be plenty of 25+ country empires with war lvl 0...

People can still build an empire but they have to keep in mind that growing to big might have consequences.

There are other features coming in and we want to wait for these.

This change will make it possible for peaceful players to create an empire.

we will also let free players conquer more countries if they want to.

The limitation is in the population that will remain very low.

It was already on the game news.

It is now 30 go;d coins on all worlds.
also free players can now build an empire with multiple countries.

We will also allow free players to fight more wars. If they win they can build a free empire.

I hope this change will make it into the next update, next week.

Thank you so much Andy, I have had trouble in the past maintaining high levels with 300 GC for a country, now i can move up.

I hope it will make the game more interesting for all players.

It is not only about free players. It will make empires easier for everyone.

I very much agree with the point that playing empires is much more interesting - allows to do and achieve much more than playing with a single country.

I'm curious. What does having multiple countries enable you to do? That you can't do with a single country?

To me it looks a lot like duplication. Doing the same thing in two places instead of one. I haven't really been able to find any useful purpose for having more than one country.

I am going to be so bold to try and answer your question Daniel.

There is a truth to what you are saying. More countries is a LOT of duplicating the same tricks. Lets get that out of the way. There are only a few things somebody can do with multiple countries that you cannot do with just 1 country.

1. You can regulate your defense a lot better and more precise than with one country. You can make what is called 'war slaves' Countries who have only 1 purpose. To host your armed forces. They do not need to worry about their profit or anything else. My own war slaves have a lower then average government salary and a lower welfare then the rest of my lands to save costs. They also have a lot more war hospitals and an education that is more focused on workers of the lower end of the spectrum. They can hold much more troops, won't cost me as much money and won't ruin the economy of my economically focused countries.

as it was said, it is to allow me to get cash faster and also buy weapons/ammunition at much larger scale. Looking from this perspective you will have to do more clicks but you will save 10x time needed to get that with a single country.

Looking from defense point of view, your empire will have 10x more targets and your enemy will have to deal with many more support units from much wider area. Having countries scattered around large map creates difficulties in attacking you. If you check attacking ranges from mainly used offensive weapons and compare them with defensive ones you will get the point immediately.

Thank you for your responses. Yes, multiple nations is a critical part of a successful war empire. For peaceful players, such as myself, most of those benefits don't apply.

I'm not sure what you meant by "You can control the welfare much better" Letsie. I have a permanent stable welfare index of 131.64. I doubt multiple nations would help improve it.

For me, the goal of Simcountry is managing and fine tuning my country to be the best it can possibly be. Having multiple nations would get in the way of that. Because the more nations I had to manage. The less time I could put into balancing and perfecting each one.
