Millitary Reduction (Golden Rainbow)

i need a little help!!!
my millitary is to big for me to maintain. what is the best way to reduce the costs of it without adversly affecting my defensive index

Deactivate some of your offensive units (War > Offensive Forces > Deactivate Weapons). You still pay a small maintenance charge, but it is lower than if the weapons were active.

You can also deactivate some of your defensive weapons but that will harm your defensive index considerably. You can offset some of that decrease by forming the remaining weapons into units (War > Military Units > setup new military units) which give you a couple points bonus (go for air wings first - see some of the advice in the Help forum).
