Stocks and Investment Fund (Kebir Blue)

Is it me or are they useless for a country without public corps? The workers salary go there, and it increases so you can buy/sell stocks, increasing your total investment fund. After that what happens? Can you use the money at all?

I'm not sure. It may be a secret held only by the gods of fiscal acumen.
