NLUO: World Government or Federation

the intent of this topic is to clearly deside the future of the NLUO,As the LU world sees it.
I ask that Each person repling here to:
1) not to ramble on
2) state clearly and beiefly
3) stay on topic
4) not to insult
5) don't hedge around
6) decide FEDERATION or WORLD GOVERNMENT

I see it as a glorified federation masquerading as a World Government for the few members it has.

Under the game mechanics, there is no world government other than the security council. Therefore NLUO *cannot* be a world government unless a majority of the LU presidents agree to allow it that power, and I think it's rather obvious -- and has been rather obvious -- that that's just not happening. It doesn't waddle like a duck, it doesn't quack like a duck, it's not a duck. Is it a goose, er, a federation? Beats me. I don't really care about feds on LU other than my own and LDI.

I see it as a pipe dream. It will exist only as a Federation and nothing more.

I think there is a better chance of a coalition of federations to rule than of a "world government."

NLUO is at best a marginalized federation.

The only way that it could become anything more is if the major federations of LU agreed to participate in it. That is not happening now and probably never will.

They only have about four active guys who post on their Web site and in their forum.

How can so few claim to be a world government?

i guess NLUO is sort of amusing and entertaining. i feel like its a few noobies who are basically disliked by several much stronger players.

The coup of Grayson is not right. I know I said I didn't want to have anything to do with NLUO, but I have to point out the inaccuracies.

Calling for all of LU to vote in the elections (yes I voted), means you want whoever has the popular vote to be the chair of whatever region etc. Now, Grayson might have done some things that you didn't agree with, but don't most RL world leaders?

If you're going to encourage all of LU to vote, then you should accept who they vote for. If you are not happy with that then perhaps you should protect the voting page to not allow non-members the opportu

NLUO is a small common market.

Sons of Light and Sons of Light Bloodline are small federations.

ShcysMattiCa, an individual, has been able to frequently cause waves of weapons purchasing. This is not a form of governing. It is a form of influence.

King Hezekiah, an individual, has been able to generate enormous volumes of forum activity. This is also not governing. By drowning out other forum activity the forums have less influence on the game. The effect is to reduce coordination among people playing Simcountry. In most groups of humans social norms help to regulate activity. Social norms are not a form of government but can provide some of the services governments try to provide.

Federation or world government? Is there really a debate here? A world government in this game would fail in a heartbeat. It's an independent game. People can do whatever they want with or without a federation.

A world government? Come on. Maybe I missed something, being new to the game. Enlighten me.
