Random cost of army spiked

recently, out of nowhere the monthly cost of my defense sky rocketed. i haven't bought any new equipment, started any wars, reactivated any equipment or anything that would effect it. my monthly profit for the kingdom of gracemeria went from +30B to about -23B

moreover the total cost of my military displays 96,108.02M, however the numbers above in the breakdown of def,off,strat; do not reflect that number.

for a side note, i am a fairly experienced player, 10+ years, so i do not believe that i have missed anything but if i am wrong can you tell me how to fix it.

I looked into it more and all of my expenses spiked on october 4676 at the exact same linear rate for all of the following:

Education cost
health cost
social security payments
transportation
general cost of government
total defense cost

and its continuing to go up at the EXACT same rate and i cant figure out why. i'm not buying anything or increasing my military. I need help, i'm hemmoraging trillions of funds

I tried finding your country and can not on any world.

What I found when I got blindsided by this in the past is as follows:

Around that time you likely ran short on necessary supplies and purchased them at a higher cost than before. You may have purchased a higher quality or the market has changed.
Under the Trade tab you can see Products in Stock: Buy Sell. This shows you your monthly use of everything and the quality in stock.

Then you can go under the trade tab and see Recent Purchases, this will show you what your country bought and at what quality. Searching back to October 4676 may help you find what was purchased.

To even these fluctuations out some go to trade tab, order strategy and quality. Set everything to approximately 180 quality, higher does not give you any benefits. If you plan to use your military set all military assets to 330 as higher quality weapons and ammo do perform better.

i understand what you're saying, however nothing has changed to any of my supplies or purchasing, its as if everything is just climbing in costs for no reason. i have deactivated my whole military and its cost is still climbing at the exact same rate. i've been playing this game for over 10 years and i wouldnt have made a mistake this crazy. i am trying to contact the devs but i dont know how

please help, does anybody know how to contact the devs? the increase in costs just keep climbing and i've looked into every aspect from supplies to quality to going back through months of purchase logs and nothing is explaining why my costs of everything i.e. SS, DEF, EDU, HEALTH, TRANS. are all increasing at a constant linear rate! i've closed thousands of schools and hundreads of hospitals, as well as lowered the Social Security, and the increases didn't even budge at all, just kept going up at the same rate. Their must be a coding error or glitch from the new update that is causing this.

In 3 real world days my overall cost went from 90B a game month to over 170B right now and its still increasing at about 10B a game month and its not even changing after all the closings and shutdowns, i even tried a brief hold on purchasing supplies for the country. none of this did anything

Purchasing supplies effects cash flow but not profit / loss.

The profit / Loss is calculated based on when you use the items, you typically purchase several months supply all at once.

The question is where exactly is the increase in cost.
in the defense? as Amalie suggested?

if you have recently purchased many new weapons, then your defense cost is expected to jump.

Maintaining the army includes the use of ammunition and if numbers are larger, then cost is higher.

please explain.

its not just defense, its everything. Amalie and i talked on discord and i should him my screenshots of my graphs and they are just odd. i havent done anything in my country and yet costs just keep climbing uncontrollably.

please look at my country "The kingdom of Gracemeria" on FB, as i understand what you're saying, however i've closed schools and hospitals as well as lowered social security costs, but my costs just keep climbing at a linear rate that is extremely odd. the rates of increase are not fluctuating nor are the spiking. they are just linearly climbing. i've never seen this before and it all happened on the exact same month in game and i cant slow it down. others have looked at it and cant explain it as well. I understand how the market prices affect the cost of things but, without me doing anything my total cost monthly went from 66B to about 200B now in just 4 real world days. are you telling me tha

You say you have deactivated your whole military? You have 1.5m troops.

Think I found the problem.
Go to Docs, click the tab Countries and Continents, scroll down to Large Empires.
It says empires above 15 countries are financially impossible to balance.

i deactivated down to 20 %. however my issues is that for 4 real world months, that 1.5million only cost me 66B and then out of nowhere it just started climbing and hasn't stopped yet even to this day. i havent bought any weapons or added any units, infact i've sold and deactivated units and it still keeps going up. the main problem though is its not just the army, i was mistaken in labeling this as just a spike in defense costs, as this constant increase is happening in every sector of the finance index. if you are on the discord, i've posted a word doc. in the general forum showing this and its just weird. i've been playing this game for years and this has never happened before

I have 450,000 troops at a cost of 40B. You have 3 times this and I assume about 3 times the cost?
When did you go above 15 countries? The game docs state that costs are sky high at this size of empire.

i had 1.9 million troops and that shit cost me a lot so i had to deactivate them

ive had 17 countries and 1.9 million troops for about 4 real world months and its only ever cost me rough 66B

The increase in cost is due to the increasing size of the army, military units, the quality of the weapons used and the maintenance on the army, in ammunition and maintenance products.

When you increase the size and the quality, the cost jumps, despite the reduction in cost per item.

The next upgrade will again reduce the cost of keeping an army but nothing can reduce the cost so much if the size and quality are are at a high level.

The cost of the army is the only factor that can convince players to check the size of the army.

if not the cost, armies could become much larger with unclear results.

I just looked again into the defense cost.

It has declined substantially in the past game months.
this happened as the army moved more weapons to the reserves.
It reduced the maintenance cost. Also reduced the number of soldiers and officers and shaved a large amount from the total defense cost.
