Corporations not placing orders for supplies

I have had several corporations in both my CEO and my country fail to either place any orders for Robotics at all, even when entirely out. When they did place orders, they were placing them only once supplies were critical, instead of following my settings.

My supply strategy is an 18 month low water mark, to order 24 months of supplies. Numerous corps were completely without, with no open orders generated. The ones that had placed orders, were only a couple of months to running out of supplies.

What's weirder, is that this only happened with Robotics, everything else was ordered normally.

I was able to fill immediate orders for all of them manually, so it definitely wasn't a market/pricing strategy issue.

Can you give us the names of 2 or 3 corporations that are unable to purchase Robotics?

You have many corporations. we are unable to see which ones have such a problem.

A few of the recent ones are: "Shafter Cement" "Osanko Chemicals" "Waterbury Building Materials" and "Ella quant Chemicals" in my enterprise Paradise Rock Holdings llc

They're able to purchase robotics, they just won't place the order until the supply situation is critical. It seems like they only place the order when the supply is at 3 months or less.

I'll start keeping a list when I have to manually order and I'll update the thread here tomorrow.

I looked into Shafter Cement.

there is a huge shortage of Robotics and your purchasing strategy starts at 62% of market price.

I think that nobody wants to sell at that price.
Sellers might ask for 300% market price.

Bidding at low levels works when products are in oversupply.

this means that you might just wait for a very long time for any delivery, if at all.

Try buying "market price".

when products are in such a huge shortage there are no good choices in purchasing strategies.

You can see that it only placed an order for Robotics within the past game month, yet, is 13 months below my low water mark. My supply strategy is 16/18.

You can see that it is far below the low water mark I have set, in fact, the corp isn't even as old as the low water mark. It was supplied with a small amount of Robotics via manual order earlier on. Sometime after my manual order, the corp canceled the outstanding order it had at that time, and reissued it only just now. In the purchase logs I only saw one tiny purchase of robotics from a market purchase besides the manual one I placed.

This is getting REALLY old really fast. I have to manually intervene in half a dozen+ corps every days because they randomly won't follow my order strategies.

This ordering system is completely FUBARed. Every single state corp in Rilgar is just failing to place orders for materials. I literally do not have the time to place hundreds of manual orders. My economy is in free fall because of this.

Please address this!!

In general:

- Nothing is changed in Simcountry to cause this.
- Large shortages can cause this. There could be a situation when market conditions are so bad, your orders just do not come through.

are you shure there are products available on the market?

Andy his problem is one I observed early when I came back. It's not that there is a shortage and the orders are just sitting there, the corps are simply not ordering product.

I don't have an example for you to look at as my problem with it disappeared by upping the low water mark on my corporations which I suspect gave the system an extra month or so to realize the low water mark was coming up.

Rilgar is a country on GR. It was happening to every state-controlled corp that existed in it when I took control from the C3 president.


In general I have noticed a couple of patterns:

1) The younger the corp is, the more likely this is to occur; however, it will still occasionally happen to old and established corps.

2) It occurs in sets of corps that were founded around the same time.

3) Changes in the ordering strategies, ownership, and/or location of the corporation(s) seems to be a good way to trigger this. Every single state corp that was controlled by the C3 before I took over had the same issue at the same time. This was also probably exacerbating my issue as I kept adjusting supply strategies to try and compensate. It still happens even now that it's stabilized though.
