Forum Symbols (Little Upsilon)

When I type the pound sterling sign, I get an £. Please can we correct the symbols so that posts make sense. If we use many keyboard symbols they oftens get messed up. Most international forums can cope. Where a game requires precise information an reporting, I think this should have been corrected and is problem is as old as the game.
