Airports

I'm trying to create an Air Transport Corporation in my country Wessex on FB. I requested it be built 2 days ago, Saturday Morning. I log in today and it's still not built. I know these corps need an Airport to be constructed rather than a Production Plant. Things is, there no such product on the trade list as Airports. Where did it go and how do I get 1?

This is another thing that needs to be reworked.

Airports are ordered automatically when you order to build an Air Transport, much the same happens with other corps and production plants.

Can you look at the Trade window, and see if it is listed under "Requested Products - Waiting for Offers on the Market".

No automatic order has been placed, the corp is still in the build que as of today.

I cant see how the game can automatically place the order when there's no such product in the buy and sell list as Airports?

Some products are excluded from that list. The quality and productivity upgrades come to mind.

Having a look at FB, I see there's a deep shortage of Airports. I believe your order hasn't been honoured yet, and hence still in the queue.

I'm surprised it doesn't appear in the order list. But I have been away for such a long time that they may have changed it to be hidden, to avoid people accidentality canceling it. This used to be a recurring theme.

You can always build an Airport corp, contract production to yourself and see what happens.

I did consider building a Airport Corp and contracting it to myself, I might end up doing that it just seems odd that I can't buy 1. We can buy every other kind of Airport.

I didn't know quality upgrades where hidden from the list either, I'm sure they used to show up.

Ok hidden from the list fair enough but like you say it should show on the orders list. I would immediate order the Airport if it was there and negate the shortages.

Be careful with this plan to do this contract airports to yourself thing. Andy has it setup so that essentially you are not supposed to be able to sell them to anyone or contract them to yourself. They just "are" and your country is supposed to be able to just order one and get it. But when they are short it takes awhile, and hangs in new corp queue.

What you propose will work, but not how you think.....

On TA there were no airport corps, so I had to build one, but there was an annoying shortage so the ones I made didn't go to my country for my air transport corp. Couldn't sell it to myself or contract one to my self. So.....

I've given up trying to build an Air Transport corp. Its been in the que since Saturday morning and its now Thursday evening. I'd hoped to hear from the GM but they AWOL What a waste of time. My workers could have been doing other things. Now I know to stay away from Air transport corps

Hymy you say don't fix but what you describe sounds broken to me? Can't sell to anyone, cant contract to yourself. Invisible products cant even see how many you have once you managed a work around. which I don't fully understand btw.

It cost 1 GC to convert a corp, I mean I like Air Transport corp but not that much

Air Transport is absolutely a great reliable profit corp because it is in perpetual shortage, primarily because it is a pain in the butt to build more often than not. Having said that, its profitability isn't imbalanced compared to other options so there's not a true fear of missing out on optimization if you don't build them. Personally, because they're such a headache to build with their inconsistent delivery times, I would only build them if my unemployment was already in a healthy position ~ 92-95% employed where squeezing in an additional corp or two is seen more as a bonus than a necessity.

Ian, Andy isn't going to fix the fact that you can't sell them to yourself. Because he never backtracks on things he decides to do. So those loopholes are the only way to build air transport on TA.

It's clearly broken. After cancelling last night I log in this morning expecting to see the workers it required returned to my unemployed list. Its not. The worker demand for new facilities is still there. I have no other facilities in the que that would require these workers.

Lets see how long this last for My guess is this demand for workers stays until I receive my invisible airport Even though I don't want it anymore

The buying order may be hidden, but the Airport itself isn't. Once it is delivered, you can see it on your map and "country map objects" list.

I can't think of any reason for the GM to take this measure and remove airport purchases? What purpose does that serve? Was there some sort of manipulation going on regarding them? Where people buying to many? What advantage is there in that?

Andy can you please look at this? My country is suffering from this glitch, I'm unable to build new corps as the game thinks I still have an order for Air Transport Corps

To test this, I ordered the construction of an Air Transport corp in KB.

Had to wait a few real days for it (four, I Think).

The order to build/buy an Airport did not appear on the "Requested Products - Waiting for Offers on the Market" list. But looking into the recent purchases log, I can see such an order did exist and it was fulfilled.

The Air Transport corp was built the same month or the next.

My Airport arrived on Sunday, almost an entire week to be delivered. In terms of playability I don't think that's an acceptable timeframe to build a corp.

I was wrong about the worker demand solving itself when the Airport arrived. It's still bugged and showing worker demand after cancelling the corp.

I'm not too bothered. This is a long-term, slow pace game. At the same time, they have their main business to keep them busy and, I suspect, finance this game.

I had a look at your country Wessex in FB, and I do see there's a number of professionals locked in for Needed for New Facilities. At the same time, I don't see any new corps in the build queue, and there's no reservation for Health or Educational staff.

However, the numbers don't match those of an Air Transport corp. I suspect it is something else. I note it isn't the first time an issue with ghost reserved staff. This may need the GM's intervention.

I get from the perspective of more established players it's not such a big deal to wait for a corp.

From the perspective of a new account like mine it's different. I'm building a new Corp every day in that country, if I'm waiting a week for an Airport my country has missed out on building 6 other corps in that time.

Tbh, I don't really care about building an Air Transport Corp. Now I know how it works I wont bother building.


My worker issue is a strange 1, The numbers demanded are fluctuating too. I know they don't match the demand for an AT corps but that's when the issue started. Once I cancelled the order to build AT Corp. I'd bet money its related.

The biggest problem when you are trying to develop a country and raise employment is say you do order an Air Transportation corp.

It blocks anything else that may be in the queue until it's built.

So yes, on an established country it's no big deal but one with a lot of unemployment it can be.

That is a fair point. For a new player, the game is to make the most of their time and get established.

The fact you mention the number of reserved workers fluctuate over time matches the last time that bug was reported.
If you haven't, e-mail the GM specifically about this bug.

Happy to report my worker issue has been resolved. Whether it sorted itself or the GM intervened I dunno, but glad it's fixed all the same.

Conclusion to this thread, avoid building Air Transport Corps. It's not worth the hassle.
