That appears to be true. If the GM's really want to reduce the workload on the servers, reducing the number of c3's would go a long ways to doing that.

But what if there's a sudden flood of new players?

That ^ is why they have so many C3s, regardless of how unrealistic that expectation might be.

Well Im sure the GM and whoever else are smart chaps who can adapt to that sudden influx of new players. I'm sure there is a dormant feature that can be used.

The Sim-verse should contract or expand according to the number of *full members* adding and extra continent to each planet or removing the additional continents if many players leave, but making it smaller would probably be counterproductive in the near term. Open space gives the new player the impression of opportunity to grow and expand in the future. It also gives them an opportunity to settle down in an open space without bumping uglies with any neighbors.

You'd be really happy to note the benefits of some distance between yourself and neighbors like me.

Unfortunately, Theokles, that's not really how it works. If, for some weird reason, 10,000 people came to the site right now and tried to register all at once, W3C would want there to be at least 10,000 free countries across all their worlds so that they wouldn't have to turn anyone away.

And Wendy, that wouldn't work either. Say they add "Lacerta II" because they anticipate an influx of new players. I then take a C3 in Lacerta II. The influx of players never comes, and so W3C decide to remove Lacerta II. Where do I go then?

To an already existing continent. The game needs to be dynamic like that. If not, this is what you get. You get my point now?

Point well taken Psycho Honey. That is why one mind should never be in the position to reign as supreme or at the very least without a group of wise counselors. The suggestion was to attempt to make the game more intimate with other players adding a strong social element to it. From that aspect the game seems cold.
Currently there are a little over than 15,000 countries with presidents and over 500 CEOs. What is the ratio for President per C3?
I would love to see an influx of 10,000 new players. I believe I could help with that. I love simcountry but I do think it is poorly marketed. I found this site on accident actually. Just my 2 cents.
