Hi.

I have been thinking, and this is only a suggestion that is the byproduct of sitting at home with too much time on my hands for the weekend.

But in the real world, certain regions of the world are flush with different natural resources. An oil field under one country can provide billions of barrels of oil. Mountain regions can provide ample mining resources. Coastal areas employ vacation and fishing industries. Flat lands - food, other industries.

So my suggestion has different aspects.

The first aspect is to implement a natural resources update. This would create regions in the world, and designate areas where industrial products are found in greater quantities than in other parts.

This will also require the updating of the way corps produce their goods. I'd suggest that if you have a oil corp in a area where oil is abundant, then oil corps can produce up to 300% what they normally could. In an oil dr

They would need to do some intense rescripting for corporate nation finding. IE resource rich filters.

-1. Whenever I play a game that has natural resources, like Civ, guess what. I get crappy resources. I'm against it.

To summarize what I will say, this is it; this a terrible idea. Like the comment above, anyone could get a poor resource, and end up in ruins, an the privileged few with good resources will be great. This suggestion would completely revamp the current system, and great changes could occur to already present corporations. I like the system we have already, it's best we stay with what we have.

This would be a good reason to conquer another country, and every country should have some sort of resource they could capitalize on.

Thanks for your input, the important point I want to focus on is the "problem" that the elites would end up controlling the valuable resources. Sounds darn familiar.

No problem can't be worked around though, maybe resource spots can have a limit,

i love the idea..... but i better get a ton of nice resources.... my country is mountainous and located on a lake (with oil underneath) theres also natural gas in my swamplands.... theres also a river connecting me to the Oceans and just south of my mountain ranges there is another very flat and fertile country which i irrigate with my lake as it is desert.... which although attracts lots of tourists along with the impressive mountains needs water to be adaquate farmland..... but seriously this game needs to be more dynamic and this is just the thing.... and i think ive heard the GM has been working on it
