W3C - Upgrading the Simcountry Site

We have started a new round of upgrading for some of our servers. The process will have very little impact on the availability of the site.

The upgrade will be carried out starting tomorrow (Aug. 22) and will run about two weeks.

The upgrade will increase our total capacity. Some servers will be replaced, other servers will have some parts replaced or upgraded.

There will be no major disruptions to the game but obviously, when we replace or upgrade a server, there will be a short break.

Most Moves between servers will take place in the early hours EST - between 3 am and 6 am but will take less than one hour. All other servers will continue as usual.

One exception is the portal server.

This change will be one of the first and will take place before the end of this week or Monday next week (Aug. 25th).

The portal is moved temporarily to a different server.
The portal server will be upgraded early tomorrow and will become the active portal again later in the day.

We will try to minimize the downtime.

Andy after the upgrade my main country was totally messed up. 0m pop in a 300m pop country. It currently jumped to 165m. This is a serious issue you need to fix. I've been here for a long time and worked hard to get where I am. And maybe find out the problem that occurred so when you do the other worlds no one else suffers.

I too have lost pop. Done a worker exchange and after my population dropped to 0. From 97.86 Million to 0. It rose again after a month to 44.7 million but wont go higher. That's more than 50 mill pop vanished wtf? The country name is Fortress on FB. Now my country is in a right old mess. Schools and hospitals closing galore.

Same problem here. Did a worker trade now my country is a horrible mess. And every game month it goes unfixed it gets worse and worse.

All 3 of my countries have had major population problems....I am losing millions of people. My production is going down, a total disaster

Yes my country too is in chaos. Employment stats are all over the place. I cant make heads or tales of it. My university index is at 1375 lol, but oddly the demand for schools hasn't fallen.

I think they might want to put the breaks on this upgrade till the problem is fixed. This is disastrous.

A shame? No it's a shame that my country is still a mess. My pop is back but I was given 1T that's it? now I have serious worker issues. My econ is so messed up its gonna take a few weeks for me to fix. ITS NOT MY FAULT. GM FIX EVERYTHING YOU'VE DONE. I'm not being set back cuz of something that is beyond my control. I think some gcs being sent my way is a good way of making the customer happy. plz fix all the problems that you've created. I shouldn't have to work on saving my country it's you guys that did it. I hope this doesn't happen to anyone else it's a headache and a half.

That's a fair point sir smokesalot. I'm grateful for the return of the pop and the 1T, but I'm now stuck with the headache of 9 million unemployed llws. I don't even know if it's ok to exchange again to remedy the problem?

I know I haven't done any worker exchanges. We shouldn't have to fix this Viking. They caused the problem they should fix it for us. Throwing us gcs shows us they want to keep their customers happy.

smokesalot is right this is still a major problem and make take weeks to fix. We need gold coins and some kind of assurance that we can transfer people with out losing millions in the transfer. As for the 1T, it will not buy people I need people to fix this

Seriously plz do something I can only bring in 180k htengs I am short 3m from the error that occurred with your upgrades. I have 11m llw I had my employment index at 96. It's now 84.

It takes alot of moving around to get things back to semi-normal.

We had a major problem on Fearless Blue.

The problem was reported to us, found also on our logs and repaired immediately when we discovered it.

11 countries were affected and the population was repaired.

the countries might have had some damage because of the drop and we have added cash to all these countries to compensate for any possible damage.

Anyone who is not happy with the 1T in cash, please contact us to explain why 1T is not enough or maybe too much?

I am very sorry about it. It had to do with an upgraded version of the operating system and a difference in the initialization of variables.

The problem was on Fearless Blue only.

In the mean time, Little Upsilon is upgraded.

White Giant too but it may undergo another round.

Tomorrow, Golden Rainbow will be upgraded. Kebir Blue will probably wait until Monday.

Next week, all our reserve systems will upgraded but this will not affect the processing.

None of the problems that were solved on FB are affecting any of the other worlds.

Hey there SirSmokesAlot....I have nearly gotten my population problem under control, but during all this disaster I spent 12 gold coins for more people. i am not sure if that helped me because I did that at the very beginning of the crisis. I do feel GM could have done more to help us, they put our population back but with mostly low level workers. I am very disappointed with their response, we have both spent at lot of time and money on this game....well hope you recover well and good luck.....This is still a great game over all
