The Protectorate is still running and currently expanding selectively under the wise Chair of Parsifal, a very senior player in the game.
No, attacking C3s is not a problem to the federation unless of course you are surrounding and potentially threatening a non fed member in which case your motives would come under srutiny.

If you would like more info on the fed, we have a training branch for new members or the main branch which Parsifal controls, then contact Parsifal at 'Knights of the round table'.

Quite frankly, it seems like you guys don't value freedom very much..."No member of the Protectorate shall attack another nation without prior approval from the government." I'll tell you something; I will *not* obey anyone who tells me who I can and can't attack, or thinks that they can command me in any way.

This is just how it appears to me, but somebody correct me if I am wrong.

Some Federations have a code of honour and some don't. Any player wishing to join an honourable Federation would do well to abide by its code of conduct or they may find themselves voted out and possibly the victim of multiple declarations as a result thereof.

Then I was correct. No freedom.

Freedom alone will not rebuild your empire if it has been decimated by those who believed they had an honourable member within their ranks. Ergo freedom isn't everything.

In any voluntary organization, the existence of a code of conduct does not limit freedom in any meaningful way. A code of conduct is merely a contractual obligation voluntarily agreed upon. If you don't accept, then you remain free as long as the option to leave peacefully still exists.

Freedoms just another word for nothing left to lose.

Why should a Federation such as The Protectorate who seek to protect its membership in the event of hostile attack allow free reign to any member to do as they please?

How would you feel if the empire you had invested so much in to build was taken from you by a strong Federation which had been riled by a reckless warmonger who had displayed no respect for the rules to which they had previously agreed to honour?

In a similar vein to Scarlet's comment, if you don't like what a Federation represents, then don't join it and don't criticise it as any and every Federation is free to choose its own rules and its own philosophy, just as you are free to apply for membership to any Federation you see fit to join or to create your own.

even the most aggressive feds are restrictive of who and when you can attack, the point being made here, is no one wants to be drug into a loosing fed war, because of a hot head.

And Vlad, it says without approval, so all you have to do is give the fed your reasons and providing you're not being an ass, there would be no problem in you attacking. Also you are probably thinking this 'rule' applies to attacking C3's... it doesn't.

I have my doubts.

Its those who are the most powerful in the world who truly has freedom, Vladimir's right, this federation uses the word freedom when its not free as an excuse to control others. So if you're a weak player you'll never be free.

Freedom is only the absence of coercion.
