Why would England need a national party?

For the same reason's there's a Scottish National party, and I'm sure there's a Welsh National party.
If there's gonna be a break up of the Union, surley the English need a party that is commited to England. Why should there be a SNP, WNP and a BNP but no ENP?

I think the closest we have to an ENP is the English Democrats Party. They certainly seem far less right-wing than the detestable BNP, but still oppose multiculturalism and immigration.

I'm currently based near Liverpool after a few years spent in London. Planning to move again within the next 6-12 months though - not that much of a fan of Liverpewel!

I doubt the Union would break up. The only nation that could afford to leave the Union is England. Scotland would just bankrupt itself again, Wales is a principality, so technically part of England anyway. and the Northern Irish majority love the UK too much.

There is - but its not popular. Just like theres a british communist party, but that never gets anywhere either.

Any Northern Irish attempts to re-unify Ireland would be as follows:

Unionists trying to bring RoI back into the Union
Republicans trying to bring Ulster into the Barley Empire.

I doubt either one will work.

20 years ago who would have thought a movement by the Scott's to take over Westminister would have worked. But yet when Labour took control, atleast 8 of the top ministers were Scottish, including the leader Tony Blair.

An English party is not need becuase well ... how can you have independance from Yourselfs ?

btw they use the term 'british national party ' becuase we are in a britsh union , the BNP do not seek Indepdance but a right wing , national view , i.e Taxing foreign nationals , and immigrants and putting British citizens first

No, 1922 gave independence to Eire/Ireland.

Devolution gave Scotland its own Parliament in 1999 and Wales its own Assembly in the same year. They are still integral parts of the United Kingdom unlike the Republic of Ireland.

Did you know that up until the new labour(scottish labour) party took contol there used to be a man that nearly every day, for many years, sat outside westminister with banners asking for an ENP, but as soon as New Labour took control they put a restraining order on him, to stop him from doing it?
