" I have and always will play the game above board." -Jan

seriously? i mean, do you just keep lying hoping people will believe you? Makes me think that you and Wendy are the same person, and you know what, that makes SOOOOOOOOO much sence.

It was not directed at you, Smokes. I was pointing out her abuse of having access to your account while you were away, thus why I asked you to please change your PW, so as to stop it. Which you did. Ty

Furthermore, if it makes me the 'bad guy', so to speak, to ask that people play fairly....... well don't that just beat all?! lol Just a thought. :-)

War continent idea is ok. Like the middle-east right now. Everyone wants their thumb in that pie.
When practicallity is taken into account, its probably impossible to impliment without serious glitches, plus the economy of FB is shallow and mainly focused on war, so the same conditions of play would be difficult to create on each continent.
I agree that FB is a world that people who get the thrill of warfare will flock to, and thus I believe that those who want peaceful and prosperous countries (me included) should be left out of that partially, but then I believe that everyone needs to experience warfare in order to keep with the game and what it is all about.

The WL debate is ridiculous. For people on safe worlds, it is a safe guard to prevent the anarchy experienced on FB.
On FB, it is a pain.

On FB, war levels are ranked differently.

This is a repost from another thread Tom:

Tom, not sure when you started, but, war was always a part of the game, on all worlds. So, you delt with it, you got into a fed that you hoped could protect you, you made enemies and friends, you spied on other feds, you made secret deals, you helped fedmates, you protected yourself the list goes on Tom. It was such a different and exiting game before WL's. Before war levels tom, its not what you would think, Wars didn't happen all the time and thats because it was almost alawys in a cold war, fights did breakout mostly between new commers, rarly did it happen between huge feds. And when i say wars broke out between "People" it happened like maybe 3 or 4 times a month.. on all planets, and large fed maybe once every 2 years. It was the threat of a posible war that was intriguing and much closer to real life then it is now.

can i point out when some one gains an advantage, they will complain, and rules will be enforced to counter that. frankly this war game is a exercise in futility

i mean really, you work to gain an advantage, and of course its unfair.

I understand Homerdome the Cold War. And I understand the extreme tension players would have been in to avoid a meltdown in tensions.
I would like to have experienced the game before it became like it is today.
When I'm bored, I troll through posts and try to create solutions which would benefit both parties. And while the game now is but a shadow of what it once was, I guess there is no going back.
I think people should now try to organise wars, maybe to get players experience. Certainly will be a fan when I get enough experience.

I am here a very long period.
I am one of the original developers and was here when the company started.

I agree that the threat of war was an important feature and I also had some worries of my own going in to find out if my country was still there. (We always played countries to find out how it feels).

We have moved to a higher level of protection because if you want people to build up empires and assets they need a level of protection.

maybe it went too far in some cases. For sure, I can now be certain that the countries that are important to me are still there the next morning.

we will however push FB to become a more risky place and increase the incentive for war.
we would like to see what people do with it.

As I already said, we will increase the cost of temporary war protection.

awards are already up and will increase even more.

spending limits are up and the space game m

War levels must depend on your capabilities in fighting, not on your ability to purchase weapons or just be here for some time.

once you have reached war level 3 (at least on FB), you will be able to fight anyone but moving to the next war level will require a war against a C3 country of level 4.

player to player wars can be given away and there is no guarantee of any proven ability.

you don't have to go up the war levels but if you want the war level award gold coins, you must win a war against a country that really fights back and we all know how hard it does.

These changes will start on FB later this month, first change probably on July 26.

so get yourself ready for war...

Trust me I Will, I plan to get that defense past 250 by july 26. You attack me I will come back as a ghost after my country is gone. LOL.

Q, a small point, that you probably already know.

The defense index does not fight wars. Weapons and ammo do. Having the DI and war ranks are nice. Gives you an idea of what your getting into, but rather than set a DI goal for war, you should decide what weapons and ammo you need and have those...

Good that changes are occuring. Probably won't give FB a try till I'm confident with the war game.
I understand Tom Willard the stupidity of my idea, I was just thinking of a possible idea to solve this problem and it was rejected.

Heres an idea. Make FB the extreme world. Abolish WLs on FB. Have only 200 countries or so and make them extremely cheap economically and allow populations of over 300 million, so that products can be bought super cheap. People will then buy massive amounts of products and try to ship them to their own worlds via the space program. Due to the inexpensive nature of the world, the number of players vying for land would be huge and war would be persistant.
Then get one of the other worlds and make it similar to what FB is now so that more people are enticed to the war game.
