One is more enlightened when emotions are ignored but one is not guilty when respecting them.

In the mean time, Hamas is directing its missiles against Israeli population for 8 years and makes life in the south impossible. They are clear about their intentions. Kill all Israelis.
Hamas does not recognize the right of Israel to exist and does not accept agreements by the Palestinian authority with Israel. It refuses to stop terror attacks against Israel. While the defensive fence made suicide attacks into Israel impossible, they found a new way with their missiles.
In the past weeks they killed 80 Gaza supporters of the Palestinian authority because they are against Hamas.
Israel has no choice. It has never directed its fire against children but Hamas is hiding behind kids. Look at some of the videos showing how Hamas members hide behind kids and even forces them to be close

Gaza is cut off from the rest of the world, it's one of the most populated places in the world. They were launching the rockets from outside the cities until Israel started it's offensive. Now if any Hamas fighter even steps out into open land they will kill him before he even has time to put his rocket down, let alone fire it.
The reason why Israel closed the crossings was to stop the suicide bombers. The only effective weapon Hamas had.
Israel knew that Hamas would have to go into the cities to fight, for in the open Hamas would be cut down.
So why did'nt Israel let the Children out?

Easier to kill them when they can't fight back.
