@musty I don't think a lot of Americans care much about anything. its seems to be only the same 20-30% that ever really do care, that I meet. Most seem just plain lost in their own self-centered worlds. lol

@the eye, I don't think that most of us Americans think were the best at everything, but a lot of them talk that way. its like everywhere else all have flaws. I think many do try to do their best. Your overwhelmed by the loud mouths (mostly politicians) that think they are better than everyone else and of course they really are not.

It's football people, not soccer. Your football is "American football". In Europe they have "rugby" and in Australia "Aussie Rules football".

Costa Rica is the bigger surprise of the World Cup but now plays against Holland...

Brazil vs Colombia? i think Brazil
Germany vs France? ...great match, but i think Germany will win
Belgium vs Argentina? ...Messi will save Argentina AGAIN

Costa Rica is toast. Plain and simple.

Brazil vs Colombia? Brazil hasn't had a good game so far. All of their wins were based on a little bit of luck and a few good actions by 1 or 2 individuals. This might seem weird, but i actually think Colombia has a change to win this one.

Germany vs France... the turtle vs the panzer... I hope the match will live up to the hype.

Belgium vs Argentina? Messi will eat those Belgium fries for breakfeast.

Belgium is nothing more then two former provinces from the Netherlands and France put together. But I still love them! And don't worry we will take revenge on Argentina for you.

I would almost quit simcountry for a world cup final between Germany and Holland. That would be so awesome!

For those who don't know it, the Netherlands and Germany have always been football rivalls.

Germany vs Holland is a likely final. Brazil haven't got Neymar or Thiago Silva anymore so they're pretty much gone, and Argentina only have Lionel Messi (and maybe Di-Maria) to bank on.

Personally i think Germany have a good chance, but Holland will probably win. Brazil to come 3rd.

@blah blah: Actually Costa Rica didn't lose to the lions. It was a 0-0 draw, so the shell withstood the pressure, didn't it? (with some help from the posts and crossbars of course :P)

Brazil will be better without Neymar. They will give the Germans a run for their money. It's a match that can go either way.

As for Argentina, they will be hit by Di Maria's absence but they will have Aguero back. The Dutch rely on just three (great) players: Snejder, Robben and Van Persie. The rest are average at best for this level. These three will be tired (especially Snejder), no doubt. They played two gruelling games with Mexico and Costa Rica, 230 minutes all in all, with the extra times. Now they will be called to play a third fixture in 10 days. The Argentinians had a relatively easier time with the Swiss and Belgium and, well, are slight favourites.

I still like N. Korean basketball But I will be watching Germany V Brazil likely a german win but cant count out that home field advantage just saying.

We won with penalty's. That might not mean that much to you but the Netherlands have one of the worst track records in the world. So winning one of those felt really really good :D

I would like to add 1 extra player to your list. His name is van Gaal and he is the guy with the gouden pik :P (sorry it's a dutch joke that translates very poorly in English)

If he tells the team to jump they ask how high, if he tells a player to play left back, right back, center field and offensive in 1 game then that player will aks for an extra pair of shoes and start running.

As for stamina... psshhh 230 minutes of running is nothing for these guys. I mean, van Gaal makes them run just that to warm up for the daily training excercises :P

Yeah it was a shocker. Tomorrows game will be a closer encounter. Whoever wins will be a much bigger test for the Germans. Still I think they'll win it.

What corruption eb, corruption would've been a Brazilian victory. Instead, they were properly steamrolled. Very humiliating.

Holy crap... die Manschaft pulverized them... it was a massacare.

But I stand by what I said earlier. If we win tonight we will win the finals.

For we are Dutch. The better our opponent the better we become. Another one of those weird things about the Dutch team. We always tend to lose from 'minor' soccer countries but we tend to play a lot better and win a lot more against strong opponents. Lets just hope we can take down Argentina tonight.

Javier Macherano gave today a world class midfield performance. He was truly magnificent and along with Biglia created an unbreakable wall. But the Argentinians are going to need more than this to beat the Germans in the final. Let's hope they will get it from Messi. He owes the world a big World Cup match and it's long overdue.
