Waiting for the process to happen naturally is the issue. I recognize fault on the timing of the northern states but you cannot defend the injustice of slavery. period dot end of story.

Jojo my issues with Ron Paul isn't that he's a rascist I believe any and all social issues will eventually sort themselves out as the will of the people. So the reason I'd vote for someone over another are the real issues at hand. I like the idea of increased nationalism with Ron Paul, and I like the social politics involved in the libertarian party. But money backed by gold and the desire to lower taxes, and 0 out corporate taxes, and give more power to the states is my real problem.

The issue, Drew, is that you're calling someone a racist because they wish we hadn't fought a Civil War with horrific costs, first and foremost over 600,000 people killed.

Are you in favor of our country going to war today against countries that currently have slavery and forced labor? How millions of people would you kill, and how many billions of dollars would you spend? But if you're not in favor of doing so, that makes you racist and sexist by your logic.

It's the same issue now as then, except other countries instead of other states. Is it none of your business, or is it your business, if other people's laws and actions are morally repugnant? So if you don't think we should go kill people to end oppressions in other countries today, don't be so quick to condemn someone who doesn't think we should have done it 160 years ago.

As for Ron Paul's newsletters from the early 90's, yeah, that's a pretty bad attitude he had. He approved that stuff, even though he didn't write it, and I think he's rightfully pretty embarrassed about it today and has been for a long time. I like that he's skeptical about conventional wisdom on a lot of issues, but he's also not been skeptical enough of anti-mainstream viewpoints like racist and conspiracy theories.

The south suceeded from the union, if China offered Alabama 1T$ to succeed and join China, that is an attack on the union. The states are run by the fed, so their are no state rights that are not subjected to the rules and guidelines held by the fed so it is an entirely different thing.

Their sense of nationalism is sane, they have a strong sense of community, and are willing to make any adjustments to do what is best for the nation. Slightly more authoratitive but they do what is fair for their public, just maybe not what's fair for the rest of the world.

oh and jojo, the paul ryan speech was so amazing! It's such a shame it was just a bunch of lies. I'll tell ya if the things republicans say were true they'd have 90% of the votes every election every year. 10% to Mickey Mouse of course cause people could throw away their vote more easily. Hey Drew, Yes, I'm back at the dungeon as I call it, but gratefully so. This is my second week back and interestingly, I was swamped first day back! ha ha ha They did restrict me from any filing for a month. I'll have to get that extended, as I hate it. Still have issues with pain/nerve and muscle.

I had some beautiful flowers awaiting me my first day back and people from several areas here have come to see me. Even received some hugs from some cute young fellas!!!
