Regarding the political question, I think we are going to get the same basic outcome out of each candidate. They all say they are going to storm Washington and promise change, only to find that the system is so perverted, and unworkable they only realize they have to resort to campaigning for another 4 years because nobody wants to be a 1 term pres.

@ Khome y Peng, thats entirely right, but mobilizing which base is better for the country? Our system is so broken that you shouldn't even bother voting for a candidate but vote for one of two base idealogies. And I'm pretty certain one of those idealogies will doom this country most extradonarily.

@ Jojo
“A downgraded America. Yet he supported America to default on debt. Which would have impacted the credit rating moreso.

“one more broken promise. Referencing a plant that shut down before he took office.

“He created a bipartisan debt commission. They came back with an urgent report. He thanked them, sent them on their way, and then did exactly nothing. Ryan voted shite down and cogerced his bodies to do the same

I mean really? C'mon now even Fox News called them lies.

I consider myself a conservative, but even the Republicans seem too bat-shit crazy for my liking. There's a difference between sane capitalism and extreme-capitalism.

Tom - When you are referring to extreme-capitalism, do you mean Laissez-faire, libertarianism, Ayn Rand sort of philosophy?

Drew - I guess my main point is that we keep getting similar results from each party after each election cycle. I know there is some ideological differences, but nobody is able to implement them.

The Dems are driving us over the cliff at 100 mph, and the GOP is driving us over at 50 mph. That's about the only difference, really. There are shadings of liberal to conservative thru the political spectrum, but not as much difference as in the past, seems like to me. If JFK were still around, he'd kick ALL their a$$e$ out and start over, IMO. He was a Democrat, but more conservative than many (if not most ) Republicans. A strong, viable third party is needed, but it will never, ever get off the ground in the current political situation, and is wishful thinking at this point.

It's funny, but Mitt Romney wasn't really my favorite choice for the Republican nominee for President. Having said this....... people need to wise up about Obama. Does it not even concern you that his wife/family take such elaborate vacations while we scrape by? Doesn't it bother you that the man may not even have been born in the US of A? The man has done NOTHING that he said he was going to do in office. What makes you think he will keep his promises over the next 4 years???

Our country is in the worst shape ever. He may not be the initial cause, but he certainly hasn't made any turns in a better direction. ObamaCare is a joke. What makes me angry is I have worked all my life and paid taxes. But, if I were to fall down on my luck, lose my job, have no money, you think I would be extended government aid? NO. But people who have never worked a day in their lives and have never paid taxes have no problems getting governme

We are one world nowadays Kiss, not individual countries. The sooner people let the cosmoplitan idea over-rule their nationalistic pride the better for the human race.

Why question each candidates speeches, they are just meaningless words that will be twisted, backtracked, lied about or manipulated to mean the opposite. Drews about right with the basic idealism of what the PARTY stands for. And I reckon that points to letting which ever party have longer than one term to get the results. Hell, even two terms may not be enough for the present situation we all seem to find ourselves in, same applying to UK politics.

Hence let Obama have his chance, the other guy doesnt seem to be an absolute miracle worker who would make me dump all to follow him.

Come on USA, the world depends on you to do the right thing.

Why is Obama the right thing? What has he done right over the past 4 years?

Why are people so opposed to Romney? I will tell you why. FEAR. The man is a smart, self made business man. Maybe we need this sort of "business" approach in the White House. Give Romney a chance, so I say, get rid of the guy who has not performed well in his job, and do the right thing in hiring someone else to take the position.

I've often been told that I dun listen. :S I understand what you are saying. If that is the case, perhaps terms of office should be 8 years vs. 4 years.

You have to consider, I did not support Obama in his first election. Therefore, I certainly do not want him reelected. I haven't been impressed with him. I am also intelligent to know that he doesn't stand alone in the decision making. I don't agree with the democratic party's philosophy, thus why I do not vote democratic. I do not support socialist programs. I think the government needs to have less say and involvement. Families and communities should take care of their own...we as people. Matter of fact, because of ObamaCare, my health insurance premiums have gone up significantly.

well i can't say anything about your personal health insurance but nationally the insurance companies have giving about 1 billion dollars back to clients. because if they don't spend at least 50% of your money on your health care they have to give you a refund. i don't mind if you don't agree with the democratic philosophy, but if the question is, are we as a nation better of 4 years ago, saying obama has done nothing to help the economy is not fair.

I hate to say it, but I'm starting to think that 4 years is not long enough either. FDR did more to change this country than most presidents, and he had 4 terms.

Obama was born in the US, we need to get over it. There is no way he would have been elected if he was born in any other nation. (if we really want to split hairs, McCain was born in Panama, and that was back when it was an occupied territory, never a state)

Socialism needs to serve the people, not corporate America, which is what we have been seeing. We should have continued to nationalize our banks and auto makers, but we let the reigns go to fast and let the same crooks profit from the bailout even further. That's not the socialism we need.

Stolin - it was good enough for Bush, why not? Some things are too big to fail...

It is a myth to think that capitalism could function for the good of a whole nation without any form of intervention. Sometimes it's required to have strong leadership to guide a nation's economy into the right direction.

Your grammer is fine to me, but Im a redneck, so pretty much any grammer is acceptable to me! HaHa

Well, 'they' like 'us' to think 'we' have a choice. But as has been mentioned several times nothing really gets accomplished.

The public has been provided with a framework for guiding our thoughts and actions into conflicts (right vs left) that lead us to a predetermined solution. This happens in all levels of politics and economics. The public is led to believe they have a choice when in reality they dont.

I've never been a fan of Obama, but he is easily the best choice. But there is just so much misinformation out there.

The debt, as long as you reference the actual #'s are a result of limited taxation revenue, and war (well and the bloated defense budget not spent on war). To give credit to Obama, is rediculous. As for the "Affordable Care Act" I think most of that criticism comes from ignorance as well. Now I will never support a mandate for insurance, but you all have to understand that Health insurance now HAS to reimburse upto 80% of your premiums. They are entitled to only 20% if you spent some then they don't repay what you spent, but I mean seriously you don't get more ethical than that.

I mean it may be true the amount of influence a single term can make isn't neccessaraly big. But I am much more anti-republican then I am Democratic for this simple reason. The biggest economic downturn of
