This needs to simmer down, look at the facts:

The majority of players on this forum do not 'flame' or 'troll.' Most use it for discussion of the game.

Some of those that do engage in verbal attacks do so for a reason - reaction to consistent snide remarks directed against them.
However, this is still a poor excuse for ruining the tranquility of the forum. More often than not, the source of the problem (the players posting these snide remarks) are not a threat in game, thus this is their only way of gaining 'victory.' If you ignore them, you cut off their only route of satisfaction, and leave them with the full responsibility for their actions.

Laguna cannot ban Wendy or any other badly behaved players until the people she directs these comments against behave in an entirely acceptable way. There must be one standard in judging behaviour, let us make John R's job easier; stop the personal att

Y'know, maybe John R's so called "prodigious" use of the banhammer is not such a bad thing. Let's think about this for a second....if you get banned every time you make a snide remark, will you make them anymore? PROBABLY not. So what's wrong with him utilising his powers in such a way? Maybe, with his use of the banhammer, he will be able to stop the crap that people like Wendy and King put out, and in turn stop the crap that people like Stuart, Johnanas, and those who (often with a good reason) respond snidely.

Remember, the purpose of these forums is not to verbally abuse one another...it is to discuss diplomacy, trade deals, war, etc., on the World of LU. So how about we keep it to those subjects?

Try to be mature, people....even though sometimes you just wanna insult people like Wendy, have a little self-control....and then John R won't HAVE to use the banhammer.

Matt: A voice of reason! I think those of us who understand your post already do not engage in such banter on the forums. Those who do use this as a bully pulpit will probably, unfortunately, not see the point you are trying to make and will continue to rant about the "banhammer" as they bash away at each other.
On a side note, I find many of the threads quite amusing as I read through the arguments so I am not sure I would want them all banned--at least not at the same time. Where would I go for a laugh on here? Maybe there could be some sort of rotation for the banned members to take.

I just wish the bans weren't so indefinite.
